What pregnancy chiropractic care is
As your baby grows, your posture, weight and the way you move change quickly, and pregnancy hormones loosen the ligaments around your pelvis. Care in pregnancy is adapted to all of this:
- Pregnancy supports and positions for each trimester, so you are comfortable on the table
- Gentle, low-force techniques for the lower back, pelvis and hips
- Simple exercises and positions for home, work and sleep
- Practical advice for lifting, carrying and getting in and out of the car
- Care after the birth for the aches of feeding, carrying and lifting a newborn
We take a full health history first. We ask about your pregnancy, your health and your care team, and we work alongside your GP or obstetrician.
Who it can help
People usually come to us in pregnancy or after the birth with:
- Low back, hip and pelvic discomfort as their body changes
- Pain at the front of the pelvis, or when turning over in bed
- Buttock and leg pain that can feel like sciatica
- Upper back, neck and rib discomfort as their posture shifts
- Aches after the birth from feeding, carrying and lifting
What an appointment involves
Every plan follows the same five steps, adapted to your stage of pregnancy.

Assess
We gently check how your lower back, pelvis and hips move, in positions that are comfortable for your stage of pregnancy, and screen thoroughly so nothing is missed.

What we found, what we suggest, how long it should take and what it costs. Then you decide.

Care in pregnancy is adapted to each trimester, using pregnancy supports and gentle techniques. We take a full health history first and work alongside your GP or obstetrician.
When in pregnancy can I start chiropractic care?
At any stage, from the first trimester through to after your baby is born. Care is adapted as your pregnancy progresses.
